# Connect to Network shares via OSX
|
|
|
|
|
|
**SESYNC utilizes Windows Network Shares for sharing files and data between groups of people and for centralized access to data.**
|
|
|
|
|
|
##To connect to the SESYNC network share using OSX:
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Open Finder go to top bar and select **Go** and navigate to **Connect to Server…** **OR** hit shortcut key **%K**
|
|
|
|
|

### SESYNC Network Share
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Enter **smb://shares.sesync.org/SESYNC** in the **Server Address** field
|
|
|
- click **Connect**
|
|
|
|
|
|
### Research Share
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Enter **smb://storage.research.sesync.org/public-data** in the **Server Address** field where public-data is your data directory (ie project-data or username-data)
|
|
|
- click **Connect**
|
|
|
|
|
|

- You may be prompted to enter credentials, enter your **SESYNC** credentials
|
|
|
- **NOTE**: For the research share ONLY, you will have to enter SESYNC\\username rather than just your username. (ie SESYNC\\bmsmith)
|

|

- The share should now appear under **SHARED** in Finder and should reconnect when on the **sesync-secure** network or **VPN**
|
